ChristmasLightFinder was created in 2005 by Chris Bromley. After years of decorating his home, many people started to ask him where other light displays were located. While he always gave them directions to the largest light displays in his area, he thought that a website with all of these places would be a good idea. Once he joined PlanetChristmas, he realized that this happened to everyone and thus, the idea started to grow.

He got together with a friend, Joe, who was very well versed in web design and php coding and together, they created the ChristmasLightFinder.com website - a database of homes that decorate during the holidays.

In 2011, Chris sold the ChristmasLightFinder.com website to Janice Blasko, a website developer by trade and Christmas light enthusiast by passion.

While the US is the leader in Christmas light displays, many other countries around the world share the same joy in lighting up their residences during the holiday season. Because of this, the database is worldwide. While the chances are slim that the database will ever get a home listed in some of the countries it has on it's list, they exist, just in case!
