Display Details

We have enjoyed setting up our outdoor Christmas display since our first Christmas together in 1977. Our intention has always been to offer some holiday magic to the children (of all ages) who enjoy outdoor holiday displays. We moved into our current home in 1981, which gave us over a half acre of a front yard, and an additional half acre of a side yard, to serve as our palette to decorate. The display has changed and grown many times over the years since. It runs 6-10 pm daily from the day after Thanksgiving through Christmas day.

While it features LED and pixel lighting synchronized to music, it maintains a strong traditional approach with a central nativity composed of 7 animated life-sized figures. It features additional animations scattered throughout the display, 4 of which are audioanimatronic. Santa greets folks as they drive in to the parking area, relaying instructions. "Ricky the Reindeer" and "Sammy the Snowman" introduce alternate songs. "Bruce the Talking Spruce" carries on conversations with visitors during display hours when he is not busy talking with the North pole workshop.

This year is our 41st consecutive year of our 1-acre display at our home in Holland, NY!

We brought back our original musically synchronized prop - our 6 ft tree, which we designed and first put into operation back in 1985, long before the days of using computers to synchronize lights.

We also added one more vignette, with 2 audioanimatronic characters that folks who grew up in the 1980's will immediately recognize.

Our annual family walk-in evening event to have families meet the 3 North pole characters, will be held Saturday, December 11th from 6:30pm - 8:00pm. There will be treats for the kids, hot chocolate, letters to Santa will be accepted and free family pictures will be taken.
